Watch Me Spread My Wings

Welcome to the reoccurring feature on Maybe A Weekend, Photo Roulette. I’ve taken a lot of photographs over the years since I bought my first digital cameras. I’ve always subscribed to the theory that it’s better to get a photo now, then regretting not getting the photo later. Every photo tells a story for me even the most random ones. So from time to time I will post a photo here that may seem pointless, but with a little background will give you a greater idea of the man behind Maybe A Weekend.

For today’s entry…

So the day was August 26th, 2014, I was on day four of a week long road trip to San Antonio,TX and back. My friend Jared had moved to San Antonio, one of his many stops across the country. I finally had some time to travel and had gotten a new vehicle at the end of 2013, so I hit the road and drove to San Antonio. Jared showed me around the thriving metropolis of San Antonio including a trip to the San Antonio Zoo. So as we ventured around the zoo, we came across the aviary that housed an Andean condor. On the side of the enclosure was a cutout of the outline of a full grown Andean condor. I knew that the Andean Condor is the largest bird of prey, so my first thought was that I needed to pose in front of the cutout. So I asked Jared to take my photo and then said “Watch me spread my wings!”
