Welcome to the reoccurring feature on Maybe A Weekend, Photo Roulette. I’ve taken a lot of photographs over the years since I bought my first digital cameras. I’ve always subscribed to the theory that it’s better to get a photo now, then regretting not getting the photo later. Every photo tells a story for me even the most random ones. So from time to time I will post a photo here that may seem pointless, but with a little background will give you a greater idea of the man behind Maybe A Weekend.
For today’s entry…
So the day was July 4, 2006, I was on day four of an eleven day field trip to Grand Tetons National Park and back. It was late in the day when we arrived in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, but i still managed to squeeze in a photo opportunity. We were staying at a research station at AMK Ranch which bordered the beautiful Jackson Lake. I’m not the most photogenic person now and in the past I was even less so, but I always was able to find a nice backdrop. So there i stood in a meadow with the lake and mountains in the background. Somehow I was oddly calm even though this was the first day in bear country. Maybe it was the confidence of a guy in his 20’s or just my drive to get a nice photo.
