Once again it is time to open the Travel Archives to tell you a tale from the past, so here we go…
Let’s set the stage… the date was July 21, 2015 and I was on a road trip to Oregon. So with any road trip you stop at a place or two along the way unless you’re an unfeeling machine able to drive nonstop. On this trip we were going to spend the night just outside of Las Vegas, a city I‘ve drove to multiple times, but never this route. I would usually take the 95 North from Yuma, but we made a stop in Phoenix along the way so we ended up on the 93 which grants easy access to the Hoover Dam.
The Hoover Dam was a massive undertaking for a project done during the 1930’s. Well of course hindsight would say, ”What’s going to happen when the water level drops too low to flow?” Just from an engeniering point of view it was great to see such a place.
Final Words
If you are in the Las Vegas area, I recommend stopping by at least for a photo opportunity.
